The man we call ‘Cid’ is a talented and versatile engineer here at Sweetsounds. After graduating from IAR, Cid began as an intern at several studios and has come on board Sweetsounds with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is also a very talented producer in his own right which helps him understand how great music should sound and allows him to pay extra attention to detail in his client sessions. He has experience in several different styles of music and all his clients have been regularly coming back for his signature sound. He is a Pro Tools expert and his sessions have been known to be run in very dim lighting with all the little lights turned on in the studio gear. Cid likes to joke with clients that they will be entering his ‘spaceship of bass’ when working with him in the studio. He looks forward to working with you on your next project.
The latest addition to the Sweetsounds family is recording engineer Patrick Billard. After graduating from SAE in 2004, Patrick began as intern at the legendary Loho studios in the Lower East Side. Working on a Neve 8048 console and with an arsenal of classic vintage microphones and outboard gear, Patrick worked his way up from intern to assistant engineer and then house engineer. At Loho he worked with a wide range of well-known and obscure acts from New York and around the world. He has worked with The Roots, Ryan Adams, Rosanne Cash, O.A.R., They Might Be Giants, Bloc Party, Hem, Albert Hammond, Jr. (The Strokes), The Virgins, A Camp, The Dust Brothers, Gov't Mule and countless others. He was assistant engineer on The Klezmatics' Grammy award winning album "Wonder Wheel". Since joining the team at Sweetsounds in 2008, Patrick has been busy keeping the room booked and the sounds sweet. He looks forward to working with you!
Hernán Santiago has been a part of the Sweet Sounds family for over 2 years and he is remarkably talented at what he does. He has worked with music industry giants including Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans. He has also worked with artists Ice-T, Savage Garden, Tru-Life, SpankRock and Macy Gray. His range of experience goes all the way from Hip-hop and RnB to rock and electronic dance music.(Both of which are fueled by his passion for New Order). Don't be fooled by his humble appearance, Hernán Santiago is recognized industry wide for his "dog ears". Things the average A&R ear will miss, Hernán will pick up, point out, and correct. A Bronx native, Hernán got his start at (PLATINUM) Island Studios in Manhattan in the mid-nineties and through the years gradually worked his way up from intern to recording and mixing engineer. His reputation for excellence being built throughout the years, industry heavies seek him out for their recording sessions knowing that he will deliver. And while other engineers have a black book with phone numbers, Hernán's black book is filled with the secrets of how to bring to life the sound the artist is imagining in their mind. Sweet Sounds clients keep coming back for Hernán's signature sound and we hope Hernán can be a part of your next project!
Realizing the need for a professional studio in the East Village, Dinesh helped start Sweetsounds in early 2005. He brings over 6 years experience in producing and recording styles ranging from Hip-hop to House to UK Garage. He has a track-record of being the only US producer to achieve repeated play-listing on 1xtra and top chart positions on the UK radio charts, throughout 2003 and 2004.
